Thus Gopis maddened in Lord Krishna’s devotion searched for him but not finding him anywhere, immersed in his divine love went to imitate those pastime which they remembered.

Gopis forgot themselves and started acting as if they are Krishna themselves and some of them acted as him and other one started acted as subject.

GOPIS ACT AS SHE DEMON PUTNA AND INFANT KRISHNA

Kasyanshchitputnayanitya krisharhantyaapibat satnam I

Tokyitiva      rudatyanya          padahanchhatkayatim II (15)

Some Gopi posed as She Demon Putna and other became infant Krishna and drank milk from her breast. Someone crying like child Krishna kicked another Gopi posing cart like.

Comments: Gopis were so immersed in devotion to Lord Krishna that they always remembered Krishna pastime acts.

Lord Krishna explains the qualities of his devotees in chapter 12 of Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta.

In reply to Arjun’s query as to who is better of the devotees whether one who worships him in personal form or one who worships him in impersonal form, Lord Krishna replies in verse 2:

            Mayyaveshya   mano     ye  mam   nityyukta  upaste I

           

             Shardhya paryopetaste  mey      yukttamah    matah II (2)

Lord Shri Krishna says: Those who surrender themselves unto me and fix their total devotion on me and worship me with deep faith, with their minds completely absorbed in me, I consider them most devoted to me.

Gopis are ideal example of devotion unto Lord Krishna.

GOPIS IMMERSED IN KRISHNA FOLLOW HIS PASTIME

The cowherd women frenzied to find out their beloved Lord Krishna speaking in barmy manner fully immersed in Him indulged themselves in acts of his pastime.

Comments: After asking from all kind of Vrindavan divine vegetation cowherd women were so engrossed in hysterical search of their beloved that they were seemingly immersed in Lord Krishna pastime started acting like Krishna.

In following verses all acts performed by Krishna are enacted by gopis who completely absorbed in Krishna as they have left every thing for him whereas embodied self soul while meditation on Lord put forth bundle of demands before their Lord for seeking their material welfare.

Eternal love is complete surrender to Lord. It is his sweet will to make or mar life in a body. 

EXPRESSION OF DEVOTION IN CREEPERS

 While passing by the creepers happily embracing master trees cowherd women see it expression of touch by Lord Krishna in verse 13 of chapter 30 of Shrimad Bhagwatam:

Prichhetma lata bahunapiashilashta    vanaspate I

Noonam   tatkarajsprishta bibhritiutpulkaniyaho II (13)

Oh friends! Please ask these creepers who are very passionately embracing their beloved master trees but this eruption of their joy seems to be out come of touch finger tips of passing Lord Krishna .

Comments: Gopis are Krishna eternal devotion incarnate.

In chapter six of Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta Lord Krishna, while deliberating on Yoga, states that he who sees me every where and everything in me I don’t disappear from him nor does he disappear from my sight.

Sarvbhutasthatamanm     sarvbhutani chatmani       I

ikshyate yogyuktatma   sarvatra samdarshanh        II

Yo mam paashayati savatra sarvam ch mayi pashayati I

Tasyaham  na parhashyami sa ch me na parhshayati     II

Sarvbhutsithitam yo mam bhajtiekatvamasithitah         I

sarvatha vartamano       sa     yogi  mayi vartate           II

atamoupmyen sarvatra samam pashayati yoarjun       I

sukham va  yadi va  dukham sa yogi  parmo matah   II (6.29-32)

The Yogi is united with all pervading infinite Consciousness, who sees same self every where, all beings in self and Self in all beings.

He who sees Me in all beings and all beings existing in Me, never loses my sight nor do lose his sight.

Yogi who is established in union with Me and worships Me as residing in all beings, abides in Me, no matter what he does.

Arjun! who looks on all as one, like one self in him, looks upon  the joy and sorrow of all with a similar eye- such Yogi is deemed to be highest of all.

Supreme self is one supreme consciousness all pervading.

That is same self seated in all beings.

How to know and feel it?

He who waking state enjoys, through all organs, sense objects with ever changing attributes in the outside world, who in dream experiences similar to them in his heart, and who withdraws from them at the time of profound sleep, are one and same atman/self/ consciousness- the witness – of all three states and ruler of organs.

This is proved from memory of all these states.

The witness of all these states is one, since a man remembers his experiences in waking and dream states and also his ignorance in dreamless sleep, the unchanging witness of these is atman/self.

Individual percepting sees only one self in all beings whether inanimate and animate. Yogi seeing this is always imbibed to Lord Krishna.

In such state self is always with him and he is always in sight of self as self alone exists, prevails in all modifications what ever may be the form.

Yogi who has attained this state, what ever acts he does acts in self / Lord as all activities are also caused in self.

This yogi sees self being cause of all pleasure and pain in all being does not differentiate his pleasure or pain from that of other beings.

These cowherd women are living devotion of Lord Krishna. Their love for Krishna is eternal.

They see upsurge of love in creepers expressed in form of embrace of trees due to touch of Lord Krishna while passing by them.

Highest form of devotion in Gopis as Lord Krishna says in Shrimad Bhagwadf Geeta

ADDRESSING BOWING TREES

The cowherd women when proceeded further in Vrindavan, they came across somewhat bending trees as if they have just wished some one commnading respect. At this the cowherds women asked those trees if they have confronted  Lord having lotus in one hand and having other hand on the shoulder of his sweet heart

Anviyeman ieh vastarvah pararham kim
             vaabhinandati charan pararhyavlokane II (12)

Oh dear trees! Carrying blue lotus in his hands followed by swarm bees humming on
on Tulsi garland  worn by him, putting other hand on the shoulder of his
sweetrrheart, ourLord Krishna might have gone this way as you all appear to have bowed to
him in salutation.

Did he reciprocated to it or not ?

Comments: All time beautiful sum up of the inner feelings of loving cowherds who
see the bent up  trees as if have bowed in salutation to Lord Krishna
expressing their sincerity.
Since these gopis still found trees in bowing gesture so they again
ask them as to whether their gesture shown towards Kriushna has been
reciprocated or not.

Cowherd women of Vrindavan are DEVOTION incarnate, They have nothing of their own. Their every activitiy mental, physical is directed for the happiness of Lord Krishna.

No where they have desored for themselves. Lord Krishna rebukes them for comingt in the late hours in Vrindavan. Asks them to go back.Tells them what is their material duty towards husbands, their relations and children and coaxes them to go to Vraj but Gopis never think of anything other than Krishna.

They have completely surrendered to Krishna.They percept Krishna every where. Asking trees and other non descript existence about Krishna is impeccable testimony of Gopis devotion to Lord.

GOPIS SEEKING SHE DEER HELP

 After asking trees, plants in Vribdaban, trees on the bank of Yamuna, Mother Earth, they now ask happy looking she deers as to whether they have seen Lord Krishna going that side.
At that place,there appears fragrance emanating from kumkum  smeared Vaijayanti Mala caused by embracing of his dear one, by the Lord: 

Apieirhpatniupgatah priyeyeh gatreisatanvan

                 Drisham sakhi sunrivrito achyut vah I

Kantaangsangkuchkumkumranjitayah

                  Kundsrajah kulpatireh vati gandhah II (11)

Gopis addressing happily situated she deers asked them, Oh deer wives! Oh friends! Have you seen Achyutah going here from accompanied by his wife, air filled with fragrance of breast kumkum smeared lotus is depicting his presence here just moments ago.  

Comments: Entrance in Divine play of Lord Krishna with his eternal power depicting itself in forms of Gopis can only be attained by grace of Lord Krishna himself.

Inverse 17 of chapter 33 of Ras Lila Shri Shuk compares this dance as if a child playing himself with its own reflections in a mirror.

Thus the Lord of Goddess of fortune played with cowherd women by touches of hands, embracing, by putting broad playful smiles, affectionate glances, just as an innocent boy plays with his own reflection in a mirror.

                     

GOPIS ENQUIRING EARTH ABOUT THE REASON OF HER HAPPINESS

            Va aaho     varahvapush    parirambheirh II (10)

Oh mother earth! What kind of austerity you have done that you have been touched by Lord Krishna’ spine-tingling feet which expression is better expressed by the presence of these blooming flowers, plants and trees upon you.

Or it may have been possible due to touch of Vaman Deva which Lord incarnate to salvage the lost glory of Demigods at the behest of Bali from whom he demanded three steps of earth sacrificed by Bali but He measured the three sphere in two steps and Bali had to sacrifice his head for the third step.

May it be the result of Varah Deva touch while keeping you on incisor during your liberation from the clutches of Hrirhayakshya from water body?

GOPIS PRAISING OTHER TREES SEEKING THEIR HELP TO LOCATE KRISHNA

Oh mango creeper! Priyal! Asana! Kovidar! Jamboo! Ark! Bilva! Bakul! Amara! Kadamab!Neepa and others of you who have born and live for the sake of those who live on the banks of Yamuna, please tell bewildered we, the path that has been followed by Krishna while going to this side.

Comments: Lord Krishna being the innermost consciousness amongst all the embodied souls remains within embodiment till the evolutes resulting body do not exhaust. He had not gone away from Gopis as he was still within them.

Ego of embodiment is separating us from self realization. Once we leave this ego of being embodiment and seeking pleasure from sense objects we are likely to be subjected to transmigration. Gopis too were still attached to outer objects. Lord Krishna is the witness seated deep in the heart of all embodiments.

Even heart surgeons operating upon heart patients can not see Him. They only see palpitation in heart and not any other mode of preserving God lying there. Such is the wonderful three folded mystic power of Lord Krishna that he in form of consciousness is invisible to material eyes. Even Gopis are searching Him in Vrindavan forest. 

GOPIS ASKING FEMALE TREES WHEREABOUTS OF KRISHNA

Gopis could not found any response from male trees. When the saw very dear female plant Tulsi which always froeruns in the worship of Lord Krishna and it is very dear to Him, Gopis asked herand then enquired from ather female trees which were foud excited  at the time of Krishna go missing.

Oh Tulsi! You are very dear to Lord and you always desire welfare of all embodied souls, Lord does not shed you even your presence

Oh Malti! Adarshi! Mallike! Jati! Yithike! Did Madhava generated pleasure in your embodiments by his mere tender touch.

GOPIS SEARCHING KRISHNA AMONG VRINDAVAN TREES

Though Lord Krishna is the source of all the universe. Moment earlier He had been dancing with young cowherds women but now he had gone away leaving all of them moaning like mad and crazy women in search of Lord Krishna. They ask different kind of masculine trees as if they have seen Lord going that way ?

Oh Ashvathah! Plaksh! Banyan tree! Have you seen son of Nanda  having stolen our mind and heart by making loving smiles and attractive glances, going from this side

Oh Kurbak! Ashok! Nagkeshar! Punag and Champa! Have you seen younger brother of Balram who by his attractive glances steals the pride of haughty girls, passing through this side?  

Thirtieth Chapter

GOPIS SEARCHING LORD KRISHNA IN VRINDAVAN

Supreme Self disappearing so suddenly, were the young cowherd women of Vraja were remorseful like cow elephants suddnely missing bull elephant from amongst them.

Comments: - Gopis are expression of Lord Krishna Himself. This is divine play and Lord Krishna is playing with himself in others forms like a innocent child playing with its own reflections in different mirrors. This is clear from following verse17 in chapter 33 of Maharas Leela.

            -yatharbhakah savpartibimbvibhramah II (33.17)

By embraces, touching of His hands, affectionate glances and broad playful smiles, Lord Of Fortune Goddess enjoyed the company of Gopis as small child play with his own reflections. This whole universe is expression of Lord then what there can be doubt divinity incarnate play with its own reflections.

The cowherd women enacted same playful beholding, glances, talking and other activities of their Lord Krishna pretending Him to be acting through their bodies.

All cowherd women together singing aloud about Lord they wander here and there in the forest making enquiry about from trees for the Supreme self who is always seated in all embodiments, saint, men, women just as space.

Comments: Lord Krishna is the Supreme Self Omnipresent, Omniscient and all pervading. Example of space is very easy to grasp. Look at your body. Every part of this body has space as must ingredient. Our heart, lungs, nerves, mind, bones, ear, nose, eyes, mouth, reproductive organs, intestine, Gallbladder, Kidney, hands and feet rather every part of body has space but we don’t feel its presence but once a space in any of the parts is blocked we panicky rush for medical aid. Lord Krishna is present in all embodiments as a divine CONSCIOUSNESS..

Cowherd women are trying to locate Lord Krishna amongst Vrindavan creepers and trees.  

LORD DANCES WITH GOPIS BUT DISAPPEARS

On hearing thus wailing and downhearted sweat hearts Lord of lords smiled out of pity. Though being all time satisfied in self and being their innermost witness of all Gopis, started playing with  them.

Udarhasduvijdadhitirvyavrocheitarhalkah        idobhirvritah II (43)

Lord Krishna made his movements in rhythm tic to that of Gopis movements in dance. With Gopis all around him he appeared like deer like spotted moon surrounded by stars and infallible that Lord showing his love for Gopis to which they responded, by  reflecting face blossomed with his broad smiles showing his jasmine like teeth,

Commanding thousand and thousand cowherd women singing together with Lord Krishna wearing Vaijaanyati Mala, by which he beautified forest he walked through and moved about, lead Gopis in divine dance.

Together with Gopis Lord Krishna arrived at the river bank which was full of fragrance of lotus carried by wind.

Throwing his arms around Gopis and touching their belt, thighs and breasts with his hands and stroking them with his fingertips, glancing to encharm them, chatted and laughed.

Finding Lord Krishna by their side the Gopis considered themselves superior to other women because of drawing the special attention of Super Soul. So they become somewhat proudly.

Observing Gopis being intoxicated with false pride and ego of being attended to by Himself joining their play, Lord Krishna out of His kind grace, to make Gopis shed their pride, disappeared.

Dattaabhaym ch bhujdandyugam vilokya vakshyam

Perception of your hair locked face, beauty of you earrings studded cheeks and nectar of your smiling lips, glances of your pair of fearlessness evoking arms and the chest permanent abode of Goddess of fortune, we have been enslaved to you.

                     Sammohitaharyacharitan na chalettrilokyam I

Treiloksobhagamidam ch nirikshy roopam

                     Yadgodvijdrummrigah    pulakanyavibhran II

There can be no woman in three spheres, who would not be bewildered by the mode of your melodies drawn on your flute and perception of your glance ensuring welfare of three worlds and seeing to which calves, trees, animals become stunned out of joy.

                  Devo     yatha     adipurushah     surlokgopta I

Tanno nidhehi karpnakjamarttbandho

                  Taptsatneshu       ch shirsu      ch kinkrirheem II (41)

As you as Godhead protects all the demigods and their spheres, likewise you have, by your grace, appeared to protect the Vraja from fear of demons.
Oh protector of distressed! We are your maid servants! Put your lotus hands on our burning breasts and heads

GOPIS EXPRESS THEIR ANGUISH OVER LORD KRISHNA' ASSERTIONS

Maeivam vibhoarhati bhavan gaditum nrinshas

                        Santayaje sarvishyanstavpadmoolam I

Bhakta bhajasv duravagrah maa santyajasman

             Devo yathaadipurushahbhajate mumukshun II (31)

Talking cruel like this does not behoove you Almighty for whom we have renounced all worldly sensual comforts, you should reciprocate our devotion with that like Godhead, the primeval person reciprocate the devotion by person desiring liberation.

      Strirham savdharam itti dharamvida tavyouktam I astaveivametadupdeshpade tavyieshe preshtho

                       Bhavanstavanubhrita kil bandhuratma II (32)

"Women has duty to look after the welfare of husbands, off springs and relations", as this spoken by you the knower of righteousness, is proper at its place but from this point of your view we should surrender unto you who is as Godhead most dear  to all embodied beings as their self soul and what is the use of attachment with all these relations.

 Kurvanti hi tvayi ratti kushala  sav atman

                       nitypriye   Pattisutadibhirarteideh kim I

tannah parsed parmeshwar maa sam chhindya

     

                 asham bhritam tavayi chiradarvindnetr II (33)

Experts surrender their innermost love to you as you are dear to them as their own innermost self, what they are to do with husbands, off springs and relations?

As such be pleased with us don’t destroy our long cherished desire to touch you, as we have been devoted to you from the core of our hearts since long.

Padyo na chalastav padmoolad

                       yam katham vrajamatho karvamkim vaII (34)  

With our hearts easily stolen by you, whatever house hold we conduct while at home, our feet don’t move from your  feet dust here then how we may go to Vraja and what to do there ?

Sinchang nastavadhraamritpurkerh

                                   hassaavlokkalgeetatajhrichhagniI

No ched virahajagnyiupyuktdeha dhyanein

                      yam  padyoh padvim sakhe te II (35)

If you don’t extinguish the heart burning generated through your smile looking glances, melodious songs rising from your lips through flute, we will finish these bodies burning generated by your separation while in meditating.

yarhyambujakshyam tav padtalam Ramaya

                       dattksharham   kinchuitaranyjanpriyasy I

asprksham tatparbhriti naanysamakshang sthatum

                                      tavayabhiramita bat paryamah II (36)

Oh Lotus Eyed! Oh dear to all dwellers of forest !Yours feet which The Goddess of fortune never leaves, we shall now touch those feet, filled with that joy we shall not be able to stand in the direct presence of any other person.

                                       Padam kil na bhrityiajushtam I

Yasyah savveeksharhkriteanyesurparyastadvad

                          Vayam tavya      padrajah     parpannah II (37)

Goddess of fortune finding Tulsi Devi on your bosom does not leave those feet (She foregoes your bosom to seek the dust of your feet) and for whose glance Demi Gods are constantly making effort, we are surrendered unto those feet.

Tavatsundersimitnirksharhteeverkamtaptatmanam

                                Purshbhusherh        dehi      dasyam II

Oh protector of people of Vraja ! Be merciful to us for attaining the dust of your feet, we renounced our homes, we with intense desire to see your lotus feet, Oh Gem of all the people! Please allow us to serve you.

                                   

HARSH WORDING DOES NOT DEVIATE GOPIS

Lord Krishna tries to dislodge Gopis by telling them their pious duty to serve their husbands, relatives and look after their children and it is absolutely improper for them to come to that place at that odd hours.Moreover when they have seen the beautiful forest studded by lovely Moon night and vegatation irrigated and developed byYamuna water, they ought to got to their homes.

He has also said that He can be more easily attained by meditation than being very near as the Gopis had always wished.

Following three verses are depiction of the sorrow state which the Gopis plunged into on hearing Lord Krishna;

Itti vipriyamakararhya gopyo         Govindbhashito I

Visharhah bhagansankalpachintamapurdurtayayam II (28)

Cowherd women, thus, hearing such unpleasant assertion made by Lord Krishna felt themselves very dejected, their strong desires for embracing Lord vanished and they were stung by anxieties unfeasible to satisfy.

Kritva mukhaniyav shuchah shavseinshushyad

Bimbadhrarhi chararhein  bhuvam likhantya I

Asreirupattamshbhi kuchkumkummrijanty

                            Urudukhbharah     sam tushrheem II (29)

They hang their faces in sorrow, hot life air emanating from their nostrils drying their sweet lips, they stood scratching the earth, tears  coming from their eyes spoiling their washing  Kumkum on their breasts, their heart full of sorrow and which made them silent.

                                                                                                     

Preshth priyetrameiv pratibhashmarham

              Krisharham tadarthamvinivartitsarvkamah I

Netre vimrijaya rudtouphate sam kinchitsanrambh

                                     -gadgadgiroabruvatanurakta II (30)

Lord Krishna talking like a cruel lover for whose sake they had renounced every material comfort, they wiped their eyes, arresting their crying, they spoke with their choked voice.

MEDITATION PRAISED BY LORD KRISHNA

Sharvarhad darshanad  dhayanmayyo bhavoanukeertanad I

Na     tatha      sannikarsherh    pratiyat    tatto      grihan  II (27)

Instead of being very near to me, listening to my playful tales, paying obeisance to deity of mine or meditation and chanting my names and verses lead to liberation.

Comments: Lord Krishna has laid down principles of attaining Him and liberation from transmigration:

One should take interest in listening to his playful tales which automatically attracts the listener to him. If one starts hearing to these pastimes of Lord Krishna, there is no scope for such person to leave Krishna as they are spiritually so fascinating that one can not leave them once he adopts this path

In next three verses Lord Krishna tries to dislodge the Gopis from the path of their eternal love for him by telling that from material nature point of view it is the pious duty of women to take care of their husbands, relations and off springs.  

Bhartuh shururham strirham paro dharmo himayaya I

Tadbandhunam ch kalyaryah prajanam chanuposharham  II(24)

Keeping the material nature, serving husbands is the foremost duty of wives, it is also duty to serve better the relations and look after the off springs.

Comments: Lord Krishna has revealed the material duties of women. While in embodiment of women, self souls have been advised to faithfully serve their husbands, mothers, fathers and other material relations apart from child care.

Lord Krishna has condemned any type of spurious retaliation by women.

Lord says;

Dusheelo durbhago vridho jadho rogiadhanoapi va I

Patih stribhih na hatavyo            lokeapsubhirpatki II (25)

Not being unfaithful, a cruel, unfortunate, old, dud, sick and poor husband is not to be rejected by woman who desires heaven.

Asvargamayashasy ch phalgu krichhirham bhayavaham I

Jugupsitam    ch    sarvatra  oppatayam      kulstriyah II (26)

Adultery has been condemned and its consequences are frightening, it neither leads to heaven and has been deplored in scriptures, as such this is to be shunned by women of all classes.

By asserting these verses Lord Krishna tests the devotion of Gopis towards Him. In foregoing verses the different scenes of departing cowherd women have been stated. They were so fascinated by devotion to Lord that they were merely undergoing the remainder of their attachment with material evolutes in their present bodies which they had with the consent of Lord Krishna to share his divine play otherwise they had attained liberation in their previous material spectre. 

It is stated as such  in following verse:

Yatpadpankajparagnisheivtripta 

                           Yogparbhavvidhootsarvkarambandhah I

Svairam charanti munyoapi  na

      Nahyamanatasyeichhyaatvapushah kut eiv bandhah II (35)

By whose feet service the liberated souls always find satisfaction and by surrender unto Him they become desire less and liberated from circle of transmigration, they have obtained bodies of Gopis in consonance with Lord’ desire to make them part of play, how such souls can face bondage.

 

KRISHNA'S ADVICE TO GOPIS

Taa drishtvaantikamayata bhagwan vrajyoshitah I

Avadad vadtam shreshtho vachah pesheirvimoyan I (17)

Seeing cowherd women having come very near, Lord spoke in a very professional pleasing manner.

Swagtam   mahabhagah    priyam kim karvarhi va I

Vrajesaanamayam kashchid brutagamanam kararham II

You are all most welcomed; tell me as to what dear of you I should do. I think Vraja is alright, if so please tell me as to why you all have rushed to this place in these odd hours at night?

Rajenyaeshan ghor roopa ghortattavnishevitahI

Pratiyat vajram neh satheyam stribhi sumadhyamah II (19)

This time of night is frightening and full of fearsome creatures, so you must go to Vraja. Oh slender Women you should not hang around this place at these odd hours.

Matrah pitrah putrah  bhratrah patayashch va I

Vichinvanti  hiapashyanto  ma kridhivam bandhusadhavsam II (20)

Not finding you at home, mothers, fathers, sons, brothers and husbands shall be perturbed so you should not cause them this worry.

Comments: This is very important revelation to show that the cowherd women who joined Lord Krishna were actually His devotees since many births, scriptures having incarnated themselves in form of cowherd women to seek association of Lord Krishna to know of him, all old and young having all material blood relation of mothers, fathers, sons, brothers and husbands but die to special kindness of Lord Krishna they attained His association of touching and playing with him in eternal game of RAS LILA

Drishtam vanam kusmitam rakeshkarranjitam I

Yamunanilleeleijattarupallavshobhitam I (21)

Now you have seen this forest studded with moon light and Yamuna water irrigated trees full of leaves.

Tad yat ma chiram goshtham shushreshdhavam pateen satih

 Krandati vatsa balashch tan payayat duhahyt II (22)

So you all go and serve your husbands, your children and calves are crying, go and feed them and  milking for them.

Athva      madabhisnehad      bhavatyo       yantritashya I

Agatta hiuppannam  vah priyante mayyi jantavah II (23)

Or you have come here due to your eternal love for me, even then you shuold go back as coming or going either way self souls are dear to me.

QUESTION OF KING PARIKSHIT ANSWERED

Rajo Uvach:

Krishanam Vidu param kantam na Barahamtaya muneh I

Gurhparvahoparmastasm     gurhdhiyan              katham II

Oh holy Saint, they knew Lord Krishna merely as their beloved one and not the Supreme Truth, then how the Gopis attained transcendence from their material bodies caused by flow of evolutes.

King Parikshit is representative of human beings and a natural doubt arises in the ordinary mind as to how Gopis desiring Lord Krishna to be their husband, attained instant liberation and joined the divine play with their eternal form. In next some verses sage Shuk has removed all doubts.

Shri Shuk Uvach:

Ukatam purastadetatte chedyah sidhim yathja gattah I

Duvishannapi hrikeshah    kimuttaadhyokshajpriyah II (13)

I have already told you as to how Shishupal achieved transcendent state though he had always opposed Lord Krishna and was inimical to him.

Where can be doubt in be lovers of Lord Krishna achieving transcendent state?

Nrirham nrishreshyasarthay         vyaktirbhagwato nrip I

Avyavasyasyaparmeyasay  nirgurhasya  gurhatmanh II (14)

Lord Krishna appeared in human form for the salvation of self souls. Otherwise He is only one eternal, unparallel omnipresent.

Kamam krodham bhayam sahekayam soharadameiv ch II

Nityo       harou    vidadhato   yanti   tanmayam te hi II (15)

They, who constantly exhibit their lust, anger, fear, affection, and goodwill towards Supreme Self Lord Krishna, attain liberation by absorption in Him.

It is essential that self souls surrender unto Lord Krishna. The self soul is eternal servitor to Lord Krishna and is mere tiny player in divine drama but out of ego of material body it has been undergoing unending transmigration which has been created for elevation of self soul to its original state. Self soul is always pure but its identification with mind has been sole reason of transmigration. Once mind completely surrendered to Lord Krishna by way of love, hate, lust, fear, affection, anger, it leads to liberation. But all these relations turned towards material world lead to transmigration.

Na cheiv vismayah      karyo   bhavta      bhagwatayaje I

Yogeshvaroeshvar       krishne      yat   etat vimuchyate II

Sage Shuk tells king Parikshit that a devotee like him should not express astonishment over the fact that Lord Krishna had liberated her devotees like Gopis in such a manner.

LORD KRISHNA IN FULL MOON NIGHT IN AUTUMN

Nishamya geetam tadanagvardhanam

                  Varajstriya krishangrheet mansa I

Ajagmuranyoanyamalakshtoudyamah

                      

                            Yatra ch kanto   javlol kundalah II (4)

On hearing cupid arousing song played on divine flute by infinite divinity incarnate Lord Krishna, the cowherd women with their minds completely infatuated to Him went to that place stealthily, each concealing her movement from others, to go there.  Speedy movement made in their endeavor was exposed by their hasty swinging earrings.

Comments: The flute played by the Lord Of universe was so enchanting that it drifted the hearts of cowherd women and they could no longer stop at the places where they were at that moment. There is very simple and rustic language description of leaving Gopis in verse 6 to 10. Lord Krishna himself makes the surrender of devotees possible by his grace. He never lets his devotee go astray once surrendered unto him.

Duhantyohabhiyayu kashchit   doham hitva       samutusukah I

Payoadhshrityah                    sanyamavanudhsyahapra yayuh II (5)

Some of them, out of curiosity, hastily left cow milking while others left milk kept on fireplace while still others left  cooking ‘lapsi’ (an eatable made from butter milk)without waiting it being completed.

Parveshyantahtadhitva       payantyah shishun payah I

Shrushantyah pateen kashchitantyoapasya bhojanam II (6)

Still others left serving food, others left feeding their children, some were serving their husbands but  left them and even some of them left eating 

Limpantyah parmrijantyoanya anjantyah kashch lochane I

Vyatiastvastrabharhah kashchid krishnantikam yayuh II (7)

S0me left oiling their bodies and others left their make up of bodies while others left making up eyes while still others went to Lord Krishna in their clothes and ornaments in complete disarray.

Comments: This appears to be the high point of detachment with material body. This is depiction of eternal love of self souls with Supreme Self. This is total servitude of self soul to omnipresent.

Ta varyamarha      patibhih     pitribhirbhartribandhubhih I

Govindaphrihitatmano        na     nayvartant   mohitah II (8)

Being forbidden from going by husbands, fathers, brothers and relatives, cowherd women their hearts completely surrendered to Lord Govind did not looked back.

Antrgrihgattah kashchid   gopiyohalabdhvinigamah I

Krishanam  tadbhavanyuktah dadhyurmilitlochana II (9)

Those Gopis who could not manage to leave their residences finding no outlet to get away, they closed their eyes, meditating, connected their love to Lord Krishna.

Dusahpreshthvirahteevratapdhutahashubha I

Dhyanpraptaachyutashnirvritya ksheerhmangalah II (10)

They encountered extremely intolerable intense agony of separation of Lord Krishna, got rid of all bad minding. Meditating on Lord Krishna the embraced on infallible one and their good minding too were scrapped.

(Attachment with material evolutes, Goodness, Passion and Ignorance are the cause of transmigration of self soul from one body to another. Gopis lost all their minding bad and good to attain divine self to enable them to join Lord’s play)

Tameiv          parmatmanam      jarbudhyaapi   sangatah I

Juhurgurhmayam  deham sadyah parksheerhbandhanah II

Though cowherd women considered Supreme Soul being in form to be their paramour but nevertheless His direct association, their bond with material nature was immediately annihilated, they all attained Lord Krishna by shedding their material bodies.

(They were bodily present within the four walls of their residences but they were able to join divine Ras Lila played by Lord Krishna in eternal form of self soul)
